Have You Seen Our TV Advert?

You read that right. Mis-sold Expert has launched a TV and radio campaign featuring the one and only, Nick Knowles.
The idea behind the campaign is simple. You could manage a car finance complaint yourself. But not everyone wants to manage the paperwork, correspondence and process themselves. That is where the experts come in.
Our ‘You Could Claim Yourself’ campaign is about helping people understand both options, so they can decide which route suits them.
The thinking behind the campaign
Car finance complaints have received a lot of attention, and the FCA has made it clear that people do not need to use a claims management company to complain.
We agree. You could claim yourself. For some people, managing the process directly will be the right choice. Others may prefer support with identifying previous agreements, organising information and handling correspondence.
That difference inspired the campaign. It is not about saying you cannot do it yourself. It is about recognising that some people would rather have support from a team that deals with car finance claims every day.
Why Nick Knowles features in the campaign
When we created the campaign, we wanted someone who could bring that idea to life in a simple and familiar way.
That is where Nick Knowles comes in.
His message reflects the central idea behind the campaign. There are jobs you are happy to handle yourself, and there are jobs where you may decide you would rather bring in someone with relevant experience.
Car finance complaints can be approached in the same way. Nick explains the idea in 60 seconds and looks at the choice between managing a complaint yourself and using claims management support.

The Mis-sold Expert team had a great day meeting with Nick. Here are some behind the scenes of the day.

Understanding the options
There is no requirement to use Mis-sold Expert or another claims management company to make a car finance complaint.
A complaint can be made directly to the finance provider for free. Where appropriate, a complaint can also be taken to the Financial Ombudsman Service for free.
Some people may still prefer support with identifying agreements, preparing information and managing correspondence.
Whichever route is chosen, the important point is to understand the process and any applicable fees before making a decision.
Checking past car finance agreements
Mis-sold Expert can check past car finance agreements and identify agreements that could be relevant to a car finance claim.

Not everyone will be owed compensation. Mis-sold Expert may handle a claim directly or refer it to its panel of solicitors. If a claim is referred, Mis-sold Expert may receive a commission. This does not affect the amount received.
A car finance complaint can be made directly to a finance provider and, where appropriate, referred to the Financial Ombudsman Service for free without using a claims management company.
